Preview: Kraków Kings vs Warsaw Eagles
Our final regular-season game is upon us. The game in Kraków will be crucial for the final standings, because the team that wins the season series will finish first and face a theoretically weaker opponent in the semi-final. Here is our preview of the return game against Kraków Kings.
This is the final act of the regular season. For two teams it will be their last week of Polish Football League action, while the top four will fight for the biggest prizes in the playoffs. After a run of six straight wins, we are currently level on points with Sunday's opponents. During the season, Kraków Kings lost in Week 6 away in Białystok. That allowed us to close the gap and draw level on points. Sunday's game will decide which team wins the regular season and faces a theoretically weaker opponent in the semi-final.

The Kings are a very solid team known for a simple but extremely effective style of play. Their big strengths are physicality on both sides of the line of scrimmage and the athleticism of their skill-position players. The best example is quarterback John Bill, who scores several touchdowns on his own in every Kings game and can also throw long, accurate passes to Stanisław Beciński, Krzysztof Karp, Paweł Szmit and Kacper Kącik. When Bill needs a breather, Mateusz Wiecheć is a superb replacement, having repeatedly proved that a home-grown quarterback can also play well and carry the weight of even the biggest game. The Kraków side's playbook and capabilities are genuinely extensive, so we face our toughest test of the regular season.
In the 2024 season we played the Kraków side in Week 1. At the Bemowo Football Centre we lost to the Kings 9:19. A lot has changed since then, though. We learned our lessons from that defeat and have won six in a row, becoming the best team in the league in terms of points scored and conceded. Stats are one thing, but form on the field is another. On Sunday we will find out how the rigours of the season have affected both teams. Sunday's game in Kraków will be the headline fixture of the final week of the regular season. We invite all fans to support us in Kraków and to watch the game on the YouTube stream. We will really need your support!
