Preview: Warsaw Eagles vs Jaguars Kąty Wrocławskie
May is a busy time in the Polish Football League. A week after our trip to Katowice, we play again – this time at home against Jaguars Kąty Wrocławskie. The game is this Sunday at 13:00 at the stadium in Ząbki.
We are halfway through the regular season. Our win in Katowice strengthened our hold on second place in the Polish Football League table. The second half of the season will go by much faster, and you can already feel it. We have just a week to recover and iron out a few minor mistakes, and on Sunday another game awaits. This time our opponents are the team from Kąty Wrocławskie.
This is the Jaguars' second season in the top flight. A year ago they were a real revelation, reaching the semi-finals as newly promoted side. We faced them in the 2023 season, in a Week 2 game in Kąty Wrocławskie, and beat the hosts 19:7.

This season the Jaguars are still searching for their best form. They currently sit fourth in the table, which in theory would put them in the semi-finals, but they share the same record (1-3) as the teams in fifth and sixth. They owe their place in the play-off zone to having conceded the fewest points of the teams on that record.
The Jaguars' strength is undoubtedly their offence. At quarterback they have an outstanding Polish QB in Witek Gajewski, a Poland flag football international. Witold has shown time and again that he has a great understanding with his receivers and can launch deep balls to Michał Goszczyński, Adrian Gródecki or Hubert Frej. Players such as Adam Skakowski and Tomasz Gajewski can carry the ball, and Witek himself has also run in touchdowns. Their defence is weaker, as was plain to see in the games against the Kings and the Mets. The Jaguars concede a lot of points, and it shows in their league position and in their head-to-head defeats – not least the heavy aggregate loss to the Kings.
Despite the Kąty Wrocławskie side's dip in form, we have no intention of underestimating them. Confident in our own ability, we will be looking to add another two points to our tally. We invite all fans to the stadium in Ząbki this Sunday. A sunny afternoon full of football drama is on the cards. We are counting on your support from the stands!
