Taking on the Bison for a ticket to Polish Bowl XXI – PFL semi-final preview | Warsaw Eagles – Lowlanders Białystok

Just one game stands between us and a third consecutive, much-coveted Polish Bowl appearance. To play in the biggest game of the season, we must beat Lowlanders Białystok in the semi-final. The Bison are getting stronger with every game and are definitely no longer the team we saw in the regular season. Saturday promises to be an incredibly exciting clash!

The first round of the play-offs is behind us. In the quarter-final we dealt with Kraków Kings remarkably efficiently. The visitors relied mainly on a physical running game, which we managed to shut down. The next round will not be so easy. Ahead of us is our third meeting this year with Lowlanders Białystok. As in previous seasons, the Bison are building momentum with every game – a scenario fans of the domestic league have seen many times before. The Białystok side love the play-offs, and victory will be anything but easy.

The yellow-and-blacks finished the regular season with a 5-3 record and in fifth place after the final round. The Białystok side scored a total of 238 points (an average of 29.7 points per game) and conceded 207 (an average of 25.8 points per game). They lost twice to Warsaw Eagles and were also beaten by Panthers Wrocław in the league's classic fixture. They won the rest of their regular-season games, the most interesting of which was the clash with Warsaw Mets on 18 April. Lowlanders won that one by three points, 36:33.

As for the quarter-final, the draw sent Lowlanders away to the in-form Jaguars Kąty Wrocławskie. The yellow-and-blacks' quarterback Brett Pullman was involved in four touchdowns, while the running game with Tomasz Kropiewnicki and Szymon Kazberuk steadily ate up the clock on the Jaguars. The Bison led 28:0 at half-time and controlled the game. The Jaguars managed to respond in the second half, but the lead the Białystok side had built allowed them to see out the win comfortably. The quarter-final victory also had a historic dimension for Lowlanders. The Białystok club reached the semi-finals of the domestic league for the twelfth time in a row, having been in the final four without interruption since the 2015 season. No other club in Poland can boast such a run.

The Bison have struck gold with their import players this year. Wide receiver Bernardo Horevitch stands out in particular, having produced a total of 77 points for the Białystok team in the regular season. He caught 8 touchdown passes, scored two return touchdowns, and added 2 field goals and 11 extra points. Brett Pullman is also impressive: he threw 11 touchdown passes in the regular season and, as mentioned above, was involved in four touchdowns in the quarter-final. Add the excellent Szymon Kazberuk and you have a very solid offence. Lowlanders like to score points and know how to do it. So expect an open game and plenty of great plays.

Saturday's semi-final will be the last chance to see Warsaw Eagles at the ground in Ząbki. If we win, we head to Wrocław for Polish Bowl XXI. So we urge all fans to come and support the Eagles at home one last time in the 2026 season!
