WE Juniors Report – Character on show against Armia, final game of the season on Saturday
The football year is slowly drawing to a close. The last games of the PFLJ regular season remain, and in November the battle for medals begins. The past few weeks have been hugely productive for the young Eagles. Against Armia we showed real strength of character, clawing back a deficit to eventually claim the win. Buoyed by that success, on Saturday we head to Białystok to fight for a 2-2 record.

First win and a fantastic comeback
On 5 October we played our second home game of this year's junior season. At the Wisła Dziecinów ground we faced Armia Poznań. In the early stages the visitors clearly dictated the tempo and quite quickly opened up a nine-point lead. That score held right until the end of the second quarter.
It looked as though the Eagles would struggle to get into the scoring battle at all. The coaching staff, however, never doubted our players' ability for a moment, and after an emotional yet motivating half-time talk we came back into the game – and after a phenomenal touchdown and some killer interceptions, we beat Armia 22:16. It's worth noting that we started the comeback from 0:16 down. Armia did manage to score early in the third quarter, but from that point on it was the Eagles who dominated the field.

The win over Armia currently puts us fourth in the PFLJ North group table. We have exactly the same win-loss record as our closest rivals – Lowlanders Białystok. Saturday's game will answer the question of which team finishes higher after the regular season. We no longer have a chance of reaching the play-offs, but a 2-2 record and third place in the North group would be a fitting end to the junior season and to fighting until the final whistle.

Chasing a 2-2 record against the Lowlanders
This Saturday, 18 October at 12:00, on the side pitch of the Municipal Stadium in Białystok, we play our last junior game of the season. Our opponents will be Lowlanders Białystok – Polish junior champions in 2021 and bronze medallists in 2022. It's no secret that the young Lowlanders are a solid side with plenty of talented players in their ranks, many of whom go on to break into the first team and become cornerstones of the Podlasie club.
The Lowlanders have a 1-2 record. They lost to the Mets and the Rhinos, with their only two points coming from an away win over Armia Poznań. On Saturday they will surely want to put on a good show in front of their home crowd one last time this year and finish 2-2. We have the same plans, so it promises to be a cracking contest.
